Tierra Taylor

“I feel like working here I can definitely see the changes that I’m putting forth in the classroom...it’s paying off in real-time.”

Behind La Misión – Welcoming Tierra to the Mission

The Early Childhood Center (ECC) plays a pivotal role in educating the next generation of leaders and that is something Tierra enjoys being a part of. Four months ago, Tierra was encouraged by her mother to apply at the ECC. During the interview process, Tierra felt an instant connection, which only deepened during her first week of training. As she entered her future classroom, students ran to greet her at the door, a heartfelt welcome that confirmed she was in the right place.

ECC is known for its bilingual education, and Tierra was nervous at first because she did not know Spanish very well. She quickly discovered that connection transcends words. Tierra bonded with a student who only spoke Spanish; the connection was built between them through their shared interest in drawing.

Her love for education and creativity earned Tierra a position as a Lead Teacher in the Delfines Classroom, where she collaborates with another teacher to shape young minds. Reflecting on her role, Tierra said, “I feel like working here I can definitely see the changes that I’m putting forth in the classroom…it’s paying off in real-time. It’s been really exciting to be a part of the Center that has so much history. GCI stands by their mission and go out of their way to support teachers.”

Tierra’s artistic side shines in her work, where she incorporates painting and hands-on crafts into her teaching. Outside the classroom, she continues her creative pursuits by painting designs on shoes and clothing, a passion reflecting her vibrant personality and unique style.

Welcome to Guadalupe Centers, Tierra! We are thrilled to have you on the team and can’t wait to see the impact you’ll make.
