The Gilbert Guerrero Scholarship

Honors one of the founders of the Guadalupe Centers High School. He dedicated his life to providing educational opportunities for Latino youth. This scholarship provides financial assistance to graduating and former Guadalupe Centers High School students or previous Tony Aguirre Scholarship recipients that will be attending college.

Each scholarship will be awarded without regard to race, gender, color, disability, or religion. Applications are verified and scored on a rubric point scale by a scholarship committee.

Requirements
A scholarship committee verifies and scores applications on a rubric-point scale. During the scrutiny of the scholarship application process, each criteria point is given a weighted value.

Please submit your completed applications no later than 5pm on April 5th, 2024.

Common Questions

I have not filed for my taxes yet, can I still apply?

Yes; please submit the latest version of your tax forms with your application. As soon as you do have the tax form for the current year, please email it to scholarships@guadalupecenters.org

An unofficial transcript can be used for the initial application

All recipients are welcome to re-apply for the scholarship they were previously awarded. Scholarships do not automatically renew so a new application must be submitted to be considered for a future scholarship. Tony Aguirre Scholarship recipients – Once graduating from high school, you may apply for the Gilbert Guerrero Scholarship to continue your education.

Yes, we encourage all students to apply for either scholarship. If tax information is not available due to legal status, please submit the application with comments to the committee or reach out to scholarships@guadalupecenters.org
