The Guadalupe Centers Youth Development Department definitely knows how to put the happy in happy holidays.
The after-school program recently had an extravagant holiday shindig at the Villa campus for over 100 students with various fun and engaging stations that surrounded the after-school space.
Hot chocolate Abuelita, sugar cookie and ornament decorating stations, holiday movies, and pizza to name a few activities. Oh yeah, we can’t forget the making of gingerbread houses.
Staff gifted the students their own ornament that included hot chocolate, marshmallows, crushed peppermint to take home and enjoy during the holidays.
Over 75 students at the Guadalupe Centers Elementary school were given a wrapped present by the GCI Youth Development Staff. Santa and his elves also visited each class to help distribute gifts.
“We watched as excitement took over each group” said Carla Medina the after-school and summer school Director, “not gonna lie, happy tears certainly crept in during the festivities”
The after-school drop-in site at the youth center on 2641 Belleview Ave. Kansas City, MO 64108 will be open on Dec 28, 29, 30 from 12pm-6pm.
“Participants can enjoy their vacation with a variety of different offerings. There will be an open gym, gaming, access to technology, arts & crafts, holiday-themed projects, and there’s even a field trip in the works. Lunch will be provided.” Carla added.
