Older Adults Program

The Guadalupe Centers Older Adults Program is a comprehensive senior center in Kansas City as designated by the Mid American Regional Council. This program provides various social development activities including: nutrition services (congregate and homebound), health education and screenings, social development opportunities and other socially supportive services to support seniors living healthy and independently.

Eligibility

Persons 60 years or older; or 18 to 59 years old and disabled with a state issued award letter. In order to participate, client must fill out an assessment form with the basic demographic information.

Are Home Delivered Meals Available?

Yes, in order to participate, client must qualify with signed Physicians Request Form.

Special Attributes:

Wheelchair accessible and bi-lingual staff. Our seniors are a strong community-base family who are warm, friendly and enjoy welcoming new seniors to our center.

Daily Door-to-Door Transportation (Monday – Friday)
Weekly Exercise classes
Bingo
Nurses visits fourth Tuesday every month
Monthly Craft projects
Weekly Game sessions
Health Screenings (varies month to month)
Outings vary; check with the center for availability

IMPACT Story

Anthony and his mother have participated in the Older Adults Program for several years enjoying the array of social development activities and nutritional services offered. Most recently, he and his mother have transitioned to receiving home-delivered meals due to his mother’s declining health. As a caretaker for his mother, Anthony has expressed his gratitude for the supportive services they have received from Guadalupe Center’s Older Adults Program.

 

Frequently Asked Questions

No, there are no fees for services but there is an opportunity to make a voluntary donation for either congregate meals or home-delivered meals.

We do offer various types of exercise activities such as Zumba and Tai Chi.
