Guadalupe Centers Programs
The Guadalupe Centers offers a variety of social support and emergency assistance services to clients through the Family Support Program. The program has three over arching goals: resolving family crisis, preventing homelessness, and improving economic and housing security.
Major components of family support programming include emergency assistance, case management and linkage to needed financial services. All family support activities focus on reducing housing instability, facilitating linkage to needed resources, fostering asset building behaviors(s) and improving overall financial stability.
Family Support/Emergency Assistance Services
The Guadalupe Centers offers services to meet short-term basic needs including the following:
In case management, specific short-term and long-term goals are jointly developed by the case manager, and the family. Goals may include anything from securing housing to acquiring parenting skills, language acquisition, accessing health care, or gaining employment. The Guadalupe Centers case managers advocate for families in the areas of health, education, and employment while equipping them with skills needed to navigate those systems independently.
Services available include financial coaching, financial education and a host of other services that support families in building their assets and stabilizing their long-term financial outlook.
Resources for Fair Housing and Outreach
On April 1st, 2014 Guadalupe Centers Inc. and Kansas City Missouri’s Human Relations Department, Civil Rights Division partnered to provide fair housing education and outreach targeting the Latino Communities of Kansas City. Guadalupe Centers’ continues to provide outreach among the Spanish speaking population and complaint processing information.
